Tyree war coral

A local person has offered me a 1" piece for $30. Is that a good price? Hard to keep alive or?

not hard at all. its still a favia brain coral. not high in the tank as its lighting requirements isnt stringent. med flow. but make sure you you give it plenty of space it (pentagonia) has the longest tentacles. and if its too close it will show you how it got its name. it IS territorial.

p.s. does the war coral bud like the acan too?

The war coral will grow much slower than an acan but you should still notice growth. If you feed those tentacles it will help it grow a little faster. Both corals look really nice!

Don't know about killer everything is little other than the torch Ryan sent me..it has doubled..and a frogspawn I had gotten all else are still small frags. I do think when stuff starts to grow out it will be nice but I am having some trouble placing stuff and have tons of ideas to aquascape but it never seems to turn out. Thinking I am going to have to make some kind of frame. Will take some whole tank pics maybe you guys can give me some ideas..Have a guy on sunday who is giving me two frags..one green and one blue candy cane then think I am done for now except a serpent star and maybe a mandarin..

Do you know how to train mandarin to eat prepared food?

This months Coral magazine has an article on it which is very close, but not quite, how I was taught
